The Magnificent Seven

Our newest member Paula joined us tonight for the second night of a 2 week pose. Janet was perfection and it showed as all seven pieces were fantastic. All Thursday night long pose figure sessions will be 2 night affairs from this point forth giving each member a 6 hour total window to make a piece. Next up is. . . JANET AGAIN?!?!?! Oh man. . .she's not sick of us yet I guess. This Super Hero Sunday will be Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill, followed by Jerry on Thursday, June 5 for the 1st of 2 nights as "Rodin's Thinker!" Come git yer art on!

Super Hero Sunday "Conan the Barbarian"

Seriously, Dalawn rocked it today. I mean every single pose was outstanding. We could probably make an entire quarter of Conan poses from today's session. Kicked ass on every level. See a handful of the poses on our facebook page. There will be great lamentation from all your women! Next up is the 2nd night of our 2-session Thursday night long pose with Janet followed by Super Hero Sunday on June 1st with Janet as  "Gogo Yubari" from Kill Bill!

Super Hero Sunday "Cruella de Vil"

Pat channeled a fantastic Cruella de Vil today for Super Hero Villain Sunday! We welcomed two new members Wendy & Keiko and had a great time trying to get evil down right! Baddies are now definitely going to be in the mix. . .perhaps a clown prince of crime soon? Next up is Figure Drawing on Thursday the 22nd with Janet and Sunday the 25th with Dalawn as Conan the Barbarian . . .WITH A SWORD!

 

      

 

Thursday May 15 - Nude figure long pose

Dalawn was a tremendous pro tonight, pulling off an incredibly taxing pose. Seeing a live model doing what is usually reserved for reference pics from a photo shoot really makes an artist appreciate the privileged of having the ability to work from life. Next up is Super Hero Sunday (May 18) with Pat as "Cruella Deville"

Thursday May 8 - Nude figure long pose

We welcomed our newest member Joe to the Guild tonight and his work, as you can see above in pastel, is absolutely fantastic. He captured the pose, colors and lights perfectly, and this is after a several year hiatus from figure drawing! Anxiously looking forward to see his work when he is no longer "rusty." Marquecia as always was superb. Our next session is Thursday, May 15th with Dalawn.

Super Hero Sunday "Lara Croft - Tomb Raider"

What can I say? Lindsey was incredible as Lara Croft. Today's session was an absolute blast. We will be revisiting this character in the future for sure.Next up is Thursday night long pose figure with Marquecia (May 8) then we are skipping Super Hero Sunday on May 11th for the real super heroes in our lives: MOM! (TOTALLY cheesy, I know, but seriously, incurring a mother's wrath by skipping mother's day is like a death sentence, nobody wants it.) Thursday May 15 long pose figure is Dalawn and Super Hero Sunday reconvenes May 18 as Pat brings to life one Mrs. Cruella Deville! 

 

Thursday May 1 - Nude figure long pose

 Happy May Day! Good turnout tonight, Pat was very gracious with what turned out to be an uncomfortable position on her left arm. Always make sure your models are comfortable it is a taxing job on their bodies and you can't take anything for granted. Looking forward to her Cruella Deville on Sunday May 18th. Next up is Super Hero Sunday on May 4th with Lindsey as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.
