R.I.P. Fuji Finepix S304 (2003-2016)

We welcomed new Guild members Violet & Chris last night for a shenanigan filled evening in which we learned what Lauren's secret obsession was! We also learned that little things make Krista laugh, sucking on Yucca cacti to make brushes seems like a good idea, but actually is not, Dave danced at NEO in the '80's and that Murari doesn't know what the sun is! The evening ended with a bit of melancholia as we put to rest our 13 year old, AA battery operated studio camera. . .Godspeed Snappy McPhoto, you served us well! (these pics courtesy of Muriel!) Just ONE digit off!

We Paupers are ever so lucky individuals, because we can't even imagine what we would do if we came across some spontaneously appearing piles of cold, hard cash! There were great discussions post session regarding how and why our professors from days of yore spewed such subtle venom in our collective directions. Just 2 more sessions left for our regularly scheduled Thursday nights with the lovely Krista. There two more special events, one in July & one in August (more details to follow) but other than that the Paupers will break until September, where we will come back in full swing with some new ideas too!

In 2016 a crack art commando unit was sent to a military museum they hadn't visited. These men and women promptly set up to draw and paint things not found in the Arlington Heights underground. Today, still required by the government to pay their income taxes, they barely survive as artist of little or no fortune. If you have a commission, if no one else can help you draw, and if you can find them online, maybe you can hire the P-Team.

Seriously, when the model is happy with how she's drawn, you know there is some serious talent in the group! Good times for all last night except those with sinus infections of course  :(   We got to share some seriously tasty fresh soutzoukos, a delicacy from the beautiful island nation of Cyprus, with new guild members Dick & Camilo. This Sunday will see the Paupers traveling to the Russell Military Museum in Zion, IL for some plein air painting, drawing and photography.
