Wow, wow wow. We got our butts thoroughly kicked this weekend with Jeff Wells' kick ass workshop! Learned a great deal, and were all surprised to find just how difficult it is to get out of one's accustomed way of painting comfortably. By the end, we started realizing how to develop our understanding of painting while focusing on the value of the subject. Great workshop, and sorry for all who missed it. We will revisit it next year. Thanks to our two fantastic models Brittany & Megan! We have one last workshop for the year, it is an introductory watercolor workshop led by Lyn Fosco. Winter is Coming

Seriously, everybody was Game o'Throning everyone last night as we enjoyed drawing the lovely Courtney. Joe still won, courtesy of his deadly kabob skewers. Amazing work all around, still acclimating to the incoming cold. . . .damned Starks.

Time to give thanks!

We welcomed new guild member Teresa as we finished off our third night with Lindsey's spectacular outfit. Amazing art was produced and good discussion with music all around. We will take a break next week and start again on November 30 with the lovely Courtney, then followed on DEC 3 & 4, with our OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP led by J. Russell Wells. As we prepare for the uniquely American ritual of gorging unnecessarily followed by human stampeding for cheap, slave labor created, environmentally catastrophic, disposable crap; let's all pause for a picosecond to give thanks that we don't live in a country ruled by a tyrannical, megalomaniac who's fanatical, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, gun-toting followers threaten the very Democracy we claim to hold dear. Well, until January that is. Give thanks.

Man, I guess I can be a slave driver at times! What an amazing printmaking workshop this past weekend. Everyone came in and produced some killer work in stencil, linocut and monotype. Great conversation, good food, lots of laughs an relatively little mess! Seriously impressive efforts from all participants, we couldn't have asked for better results.
